Bio

Dr. Carolina Medina is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in 2005. Between 2005 and 2006, she became certified in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui-na massage and Food Therapy by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and the China National Society of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Also in 2005 and 2006, Dr. Medina completed a 14-month clinical internship in TCVM at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2010, she became certified in canine rehabilitation therapy through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She was a clinical assistant professor and Chief of the Integrative Medicine service at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine from 2008-2013. She was one of the founders of the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and served as the secretary and treasurer from 2006-20013. She was also one of the founders of the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and has been an Associate Editor and regular contributor since 2006. She has been on the Board of Directors for the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management and the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians. In 2013 Dr. Medina became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Currently she works as a TCVM practitioner and rehabilitation specialist at Coral Springs Animal Hospital in Coral Springs, Florida.
