Bio

Dr. McKnight grew up in a small eastern Arkansas farming community just west of Memphis, TN. He attended Mississippi State University for his undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr. McKnight spent the next 4 years as a Captain in the United States Army Veterinary Corps. Capt. McKnight served at Ft. Stewart, GA and the Navy Medical Hospital in Naples, Italy. After leaving the service in 1985, he moved to Jacksonville, FL and has worked as an equine veterinarian, orthopedic surgeon, general practitioner, and locum tenum, prior to buying the Family Pet Hospital in 2000. He studied acupuncture at Chi in Reddick, FL and became certified in Mixed Practice Acupuncture in 2013. He since successfully incorporated acupuncture into the practice.
