Bio

Dr. Tahon Schmid graduated from the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern, Switzerland, in 2001 and got her Doctorate in 2005. Until 2017, she practiced small animal veterinary medicine with her main interests being internal medicine, anesthesia, and pain management. Her everyday professional experience urged her to integrate complementary medical care, especially Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) to her patients’ conventional treatments. In 2011, she enrolled the acupuncture course with Chi Spain. In 2012, she founded her own mobile TCVM practice and acts as a consultant in different small animal practices and equine clinics. She enrolled in the Master Program of TCVM at Chi in Reddick, Florida in 2015 and graduated with her Master's thesis, "Assessment of Acupuncture Point Sensitivity Scanning Method for Localizing and Evaluating Lesions in Horses", in 2019. She is also certified in TCVM food therapy (2016), Chinese Herbal Medicine (2017), and Tui-Na (2018). Dr. Tahon Schmid is the Director of Chi Switzerland.
