Bio

Dr. Maler utilizes acupuncture, chiropractic and osteopathy to diagnose and treat lameness and performance problems.She specializes in sports medicine and rehabilitation, and practices integration of modern veterinary medicine diagnostics and therapeutics with alternative modalities. This integration allows for an invaluable “whole patient” approach to veterinary medicine. Equine back pain, TMJ dysfunction and hoof balance are areas of special interest to her. Soon after graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with Honors in 1999, she initiated her education in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at Chi. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, Certified Veterinary Herbologist, Certified Veterinary Tui-na Practitioner and Certified Veterinary Food Therapist. In 2005, she began teaching at Chi during the acupuncture course. She currently also instructs at the advanced acupuncture modules and Tui-na courses. Simultaneously, she started her education in Veterinary Chiropractic, completing basic chiropractic courses at both Options for Animals and Healing Oasis Wellness Center as well as many advanced chiropractic courses. She is certified in Veterinary Chiropractic by both the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association and American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She also instructs at Options for Animals and is a certifying examiner for the IVCA.
