Robert MacKay

Bio

Dr. MacKay received his veterinary degree (BVSc) from Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand in 1975. After 3 years of dairy practice in New Zealand, he did an internship at the University of California, Davis (1977-78) and a residency in large animal medicine at the University of Florida (1978-80). In 1981, he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology at the University of Florida. Dr. MacKay serves as a Professor of Large Animal Medicine at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where his clinical interests include general internal medicine with a special interest in clinical neurology. His areas of research focus are equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM), anhidrosis and endotoxemia of horses.
