Dr. Chong Ying Choi received his DVM from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr. Chong was R&D Executive of Bayer Malaysia from 1999 – 2002 with a primary focus in the small animal field. In 2002, he left Bayer to establish his own small animal practice in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has since been a small animal practitioner and veterinary surgeon.

Dr. Chong’s interests in TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) led him to enroll with Chi in 2014, where he graduated as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA). He pursued further education in Chinese herbal medicine and Tui-na and, in 2017, Dr. Chong became Malaysia's first Certified Veterinary Tui-na Practitioner (CVTP). In 2020, Dr. Chong presented his case study, "Treatment of Tracheal Collapse using TCVM," during the 22nd Annual International Conference on TCVM in Reddick, Florida. Dr. Chong is the lab instructor for Chi Malaysia.
